Edition #46 | The Discomfort Budget | Monday, April 27, 2026

If you are spending all your energy avoiding discomfort. Invest it instead. Every day you dodge the hard thing you pay a tax on your potential that compounds faster than you think.

Let’s get into it.

1 VERSE

2 Timothy 1:7

"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."

God did not give you a spirit of fear. He gave you power, love, and self-discipline. Those three things are the exact ingredients you need to walk into discomfort on purpose. Power to face it. Love to do it for the right reasons. Self-discipline to keep doing it when nobody is making you.

1 VOICE

Mark Roberge

"The best salespeople don't sell. They help."

Mark Roberge was the founding CRO at HubSpot. He took the company from zero to one hundred million in revenue. He discovered that the people who grew fastest were not the ones who avoided discomfort. They were the ones who leaned into it. They made the uncomfortable calls. They asked the hard questions. They helped people face truths they did not always want to hear.

1 CHALLENGE

The Discomfort Budget

Write down three uncomfortable things you have been avoiding. Order them from least to most uncomfortable. Complete all three this week starting with the easiest and working up. The principle is this. The Discomfort Budget is a pre-decided amount of discomfort you voluntarily seek every day. Not endure. Seek. Spend discomfort on growth instead of burning it on avoidance.

Keep it Real Deal.
