Edition #035 | FAITH | The Unanswered Prayer | Friday, April 10, 2026

You prayed for something specific and it did not happen. You asked for the door to open and it stayed shut. You begged for the situation to change and it got worse. Now you are sitting in the silence wondering if anyone is listening at all.

That silence has killed more faith than any argument ever could. Not because the prayer went unanswered. But because you interpreted silence as absence. And those are not the same thing.

Here is the framework that makes sense of the waiting.

Let's get into it.

1 VERSE

Romans 8:28

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

All things. Not some things. Not the good things. All things. Including the silence. Including the no. Including the detour that feels like a dead end. The promise is not that everything will feel good. The promise is that everything is being worked for good.

1 VOICE

Bob Buford

"The first half of life is about building success. The second half is about building significance."

Bob Buford was a successful cable television executive who experienced one of the most devastating losses a person can face, the death of his son. Instead of retreating, he channeled his grief into a new mission and wrote Halftime, a book that helped millions of people transition from success to significance. His work proves that the most meaningful chapters of your life often begin on the other side of the prayers that went unanswered.

That shift often begins with an unanswered prayer. The thing you wanted so badly that you did not receive becomes the reason you pursue something you never would have found otherwise. What feels like loss is often the beginning of your most important work.

1 CHALLENGE

The Waiting List

Get a piece of paper and write down three things you have prayed for that have not happened yet. Next to each one write this sentence. I trust that this silence is working for my good even though I cannot see how. Put the paper in your Bible or journal and read it every morning this week before you start your day. Let the waiting become part of your practice instead of an obstacle to it.

Hit reply with the word DONE when your waiting list is written and you have read it every morning for seven days.

Keep it Real Deal.
