Edition #024 | IDENTITY | The Label Tear | Thursday, March 26, 2026

Somewhere along the way somebody labeled you. The quiet one. The troublemaker. The kid who won't make it in the real world. The one who will never amount to much. You did not ask for it. You did not agree to it. But you started living inside of it because hearing something enough times makes it feel like the truth.

The most dangerous labels are the ones you repeat to yourself. And they are running the show right now whether you realize it or not.

Let’s get into it.

1 VERSE

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

You were not mass produced on an assembly line. You are handiwork. Handcrafted. Individually designed for specific good works that were planned before you were born. No human label can override a divine blueprint.

1 VOICE

Brené Brown

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”

Brené Brown has spent over two decades researching vulnerability, courage, and shame. Her work at the University of Houston and her bestselling books have shown millions of people that the stories we tell ourselves about who we are have more power over our lives than almost any external circumstance.

1 CHALLENGE

The Label Tear

Get a piece of paper. Write down one label you have been carrying that someone else gave you. The thing you believe about yourself that started with someone else's words. Read it one time. Then tear the paper in half. Not as a metaphor. Physically tear it. Feel it rip. Throw the pieces away. That label had an expiration date. Today is the day.

Keep it Real Deal.
